Everyone loves a facial - unfortunately, it's not the most affordable purchase, especially in the early months of the year when we tend to need the relaxation the most.
Here’s a roundup of our favourite places in Newcastle where you can bag yourself a free facial or makeover.
Clinique at John Lewis
📍 Eldon SquarePrice range: Free!
Clinique is renowned around the world for their skincare and makeup, and their team in John Lewis Eldon Square offer free skin consultations and even facials, too. They offer a 15-minute express facial designed to cleanse, hydrate, and refresh your skin—perfect for a quick beauty boost.
Toon Tip: Clinique often offers free makeup consultations alongside their facials, so make sure to ask for a makeover while you’re there.
The Body Shop at Eldon Square
📍 Eldon Square Shopping CentrePrice range: Free!
Even though The Body Shop have faced issues in the last few years, I'm happy to say they're still going strong. If you prefer using natural and cruelty-free products, The Body Shop is a great choice. They offer complimentary mini facials tailored to your skin type, which include cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturising treatments.
Toon Tip: Sign up for their loyalty program for discounts and sneak peeks of upcoming beauty events where you might score even more free treatments
Lush Cosmetics
📍 Northumberland StreetPrice range: Free!
We all know a trip to Lush can be a wild one even at the quietest of times, however it's well worth a visit. They are famous for their handmade products, and they will happily talk you through their approach while you can grab a free skin consultation at their Northumberland Street store.
Toon Tip: The products can actually be made there and then - so if you're after something abit unique, go ahead and be specific - they might have just the thing.
MAC Cosmetics at Fenwick
📍 Fenwick NewcastlePrice range: Free!
MAC at the Newcastle staple - Fenwick (usually known as Fenwicks completely by accident)- offers a free 30-minute makeover when you purchase a product. So, although it's not technically free - it’s the perfect opportunity to try out their other makeup and get some expert tips.
Toon tip: You don’t even have to make a big purchase—grab a lipstick or mascara, and the full makeover comes along with it.
Boots No7 Counter
📍 Various Locations (including Eldon Square & Gateshead MetroCentre)Price range: Free!
I once spent a Christmas period working as a Boots’ No7 artist, and I can confirm their products are worth the hype. Their counters offer free beauty consultations with skin assessments, including finding out your skin tone using a fancy tool (they are friendly with the samples, too).
Toon tip: No7 is keen with their offers - regularly holding beauty events and promotions. So keep an eye out for extra perks like vouchers and online deals, too.
We would love to hear about your experience - let us know in the comments!
